20|Dec|2009 1This thing is a waste of money. The battery barely lasts, the sound reminds me of the tape recorder I had in the 80’s when I was a kid and stereo sound was still a novelty. Save your money for something else!

20|Dec|2009 2The iPod, like the Sony Walkman, is a personal music device. However, a lot of companies have come to the realization that, unlike the walkman, the iPod can also be the center of a pretty good music system.
Logitech is such a company. They have been aggressively moving into the iPod accessories market for some time now. They have also been moving upmarket in the quality of their offering as well.
The mm50 is one of their latest iPod add-ons.
In our review, we took a RainyDayMagazine FirstLook at Logitech’s mm50 portable speakers. We’ll show you the basic features of the unit and examine the quality of the construction.

20|Dec|2009 3the price was right, but the speakers have some design needs…very quick to run out of battery…can’t increase volume much but if you do, you get speaker buzz in the bass range…metalic sounding in general…non intuitive use, just rather pedestrian attempt.

20|Dec|2009 4I purchased this item at the apple store. The clerk really sold it to me, stating that the speakers were superior to the ihome system. I’m very disappointed with the sound quality. I purchased it to listen to my audio books. I often have to raise the volume to the highest level just to hear the audio, but then I get a terrible screeching noise. This noise is not part of the audio. It sounds fine on my headphones or my larger boom box. Also, I cannot play music with the logitech speakers. There is absolutely no bass at all. It just sounds downright horrible. Furthermore, sometimes the stupid device turns on for no reason (once in the middle of the night). And when I charge it, at times, it doesn’t take a full charge. This was a total waste of money. I bought it to listen to audio books in the car, so I wouldn’t have to use headphones and risk getting pulled over. Well, I’m back to my headphones. I don’t know if the ihome is any better, but save your money with this device.

20|Dec|2009 5My sister-in-law has these speakers and they work great. She bought me a set for Christmas and they cannot hold a charge at all. I just found this out, so now I will only get a partial refund. NOT HAPPY!
