17|Dec|2009 1I just recieved this as a gift and my 1st iPod. I love the design but nothing will charge this unit. I have a new Pioneer Elite AVR with Pioneer input with iPod input. My friends older unites will all charge with everything. I just went and bought all new connectors and chargers for the house and car but none of them work. The stores had no clue. What a waste. Back it goes and I will get something else.

17|Dec|2009 2This thing is a disgrace. I hooked it up to a Bose system. To get any sound I had to turn up the volume very high. The hum sound generated by the Belkin was so bad, listening to any music was impossible.

17|Dec|2009 3After installing, the dock simply did not work. Not with a nano 2G, not with a nano 4G, not at all. After 3 attempts, I was able to get a scratchy signal to the receiver. The right channel was ok, but the left channel could muster only about 20% of the right’s amplitude. (I verified the connection to the receiver and ipod were functional with my previous set-up.) I am an engineer with 15+ years of experience in manufacturing electronics, and I suspect that Belkin is cutting corners on quality. Too bad, because now I am going to buy anything but a Belkin unit.

17|Dec|2009 4This is a nice little inexpensive quality dock for night stand; not really for video hookup; audio is fine. Nice weight and seems to stay in place; if the cats get it-may add some double sided tape or Velcro to bottom. I am using it for an IPod touch (in slider Incase without any insert in dock) hooked to an aux input on a clock radio (for headphone use) with mini jack out-to play Wunder Radio (greatest app ever). It makes for a nice clean setup; I am using the cheaper (was $16 now $19 F8Z122) version without the usb charger end as I had plenty of usb blade chargers on-hand.

17|Dec|2009 5Before buying, I read several reviews on multiple websites and settled on this product due to several positive reviews. It works as expected. If you are looking for a simple, inexpensive way to connect your iPod to a stereo (or other device), this is it. The base is weighted to give it some balance. It’s small size allows it to fit in tight spaces. It will recharge the iPod. I think it has sync capability with a computer. (Comes with USB cable - though I haven’t tried it.) The only odd thing about it is an incredibly bright, blue LED light built into the power cord. Not sure why they used such a bright light, but it works nicely as a night light!
